Hello!  My name is Meridith Weedman and my husband - Brent, son - Luke, daughter-in-law - Becca and I have Rocky Run Ranch General Store.  We are a 125-acre, 6th generation family farm in South Central Kentucky.  We raise and sell grass fed beef cattle, cage free eggs, mixed grass with clover hay, maple syrup, firewood, chemical free garden products and have an online cross stitch store.  

I run and operate the cross stitch portion of the store.  My interest in cross stitch started when I was around 8 years old.  I had always watched my Mom do it so I decided to try it as well.  Fast forward forty something years later and here we are…turning my passion into a business.  When I turned 50, I didn’t look at it as a bad thing.  I decided to take this moment in my life to create a second chapter and instead of saying “someday I am going to do this”, I actually start doing it.  So, here I am, taking chances and giving my husband heart attacks with all my crazy ideas and actions.  I have never looked back or regretted a thing.  

A few years ago I became involved with few local cross stitch groups and it really opened my eyes to a whole new world of cross stitch.  I was used to just stitching on Aida with DMC floss and only buying charts at big chain craft stores.  Let me be clear – there is absolutely nothing wrong with stitching on Aida or using DMC!!!  I still stitch on Aida occasionally and love my DMC collection.  But there is so much more to this art and I have absolutely loved every second learning about it.  I then realized that actual cross stitch stores were quickly becoming dinosaurs of the craft world.  There was nowhere close to purchase fancy flosses, beautiful linens, charts and accessories. 

So, after much preparation and time, I decided to go for it and open my own store online.  The on-line store is not necessarily a new concept, but I try to bring something different to the table.  When I go to my cross-stitch groups, I like to bring some new products to show and offer for sale.  Even if it is something as small as a needle.  I, like many other stitchers, like to see a product before purchasing.  Sometimes the photo just does not do the pattern or fabric justice.
